The Aspyrre CORE Leadership Development Coaching program covers four key areas:
C – Clear thinking.
In order to lead you must know exactly where you are going, be able to communicate this clearly to those you are leading, and help connect the things they do on a daily basis with the bigger picture. If a leader is confused, changes direction frequently, or isn’t able to communicate in a context that speaks to the team, the team flounders, and their energy is not spent where it can be best leveraged. Leaders can utilize their coaching time to think and talk through decisions they need to make on everything from priorities, to marketing moves, to how to handle employee or team issues. The purpose of the call is not to tell them what to do, but to give them a clear decision-making paradigm, access to other perspectives, and a safe space to process so they leave the call with clarity and confidence.
O – Organization.
Most leaders work in dynamic environments where they are constantly adapting to changes in the business climate, responding to requests and needs from team members, and working to complete daily administrative tasks, while also fighting to get time to focus and think strategically. Leaders must be able to manage their time effectively and not reactively. They need to set aside quiet time to focus on what is most important and balance that with quickly handling team issues, being available to handle the unexpected, and managing daily tasks, reports, meetings, and projects. Aspyrre has several tools available to help leaders analyze priorities, organize their time, and develop efficient systems. We base our time management systems on the natural workstyle of each client, and we are also able to explore and overcome common self-defeating behavior patterns around time for those who keep getting behind despite their best intentions.
R – Relationships.
The vast majority of people who leave companies do so because of the relationship they had with their boss. Leaders need to build genuine empowering relationships with their constituents in order to inspire loyalty and performance, and in order to do this, they need tools to manage a wide variety of personalities, as well as to help them understand how they impact others. We provide practical tools, such as a script and class on how to give feedback and handle difficult conversations, and deeper reflection tools such as how to set healthy boundaries, how to understand the dynamics behind personality conflicts, what motivates people, and what to do when people get stuck in their stories. We have an optional 360 assessment process to help leaders learn how they show up to others, and our advanced leaders have the opportunity to go through Aspyrre’s “Leader as Coach” program, which not only teaches basic coaching skills, but also helps develop a strong, confident and supportive leadership presence.
E – Evolution.
The foundational purpose of leadership development coaching is to help clients accelerate their personal growth so that they transform into more confident, capable, and effective human beings. This deeper work enables a leader to examine his or her thinking patterns, identify underlying sources of stress, and change assumptions and beliefs that may be holding them back from reaching their highest potential. This work is longer term, personal, and can be life-changing and transformational. While the work itself happens internally, what you will usually witness from the outside is a change in their energy. Their level of stress and their stress reactions decrease dramatically, which causes others to enjoy working with them and feel more connected to them.
