If you can’t get motivated to go after something you want, you aren’t alone. We all have competing desires, and many of them aren’t as obvious as we would think. People struggling with motivation most often experience a feeling of drain, the desire to escape, and frustration with themselves for procrastinating despite their best intentions.
The most important thing we do with our clients who are struggling with motivation is help them discover the internal conflicts that have them wanting one thing and doing another. The important thing to understand is that we never do anything that doesn’t serve us, so if you are caught in an inner war where on one hand you are dying to make something great happen in your life and on the other hand you can’t make yourself move, take heart – that part of yourself that is holding you back is really not an inner demon, it’s usually more of a quiet but ruthless advocate for something that matters to you and hasn’t been acknowledged.
If you would like coaching to help you discover the inner conflict(s) that may be holding you back, and start moving forward more productively, send an e-mail to schedule a consultation (20-30 minute phone call) and we’ll get you on the calendar right away.
