I think one of the biggest questions people have when it comes to coaching is “If I invest in coaching, will I really change”? So many people, products and services promise big changes in your life only to have a big “IF” associated with them.
The big “IF” is “IF you follow our program or plan, then you’ll get fantastic results.” And in fact, most of these programs or plans (diets) do work great IF you follow them. But the struggle most people have with change isn’t so much about having a plan, it’s about not having the time, clarity, focus, or resources to consistently execute on the plan long enough to achieve the promised results.
No matter what type of change we want to make in our behavior, if we are using will power to make the change, it’s highly likely that we will fall back into our old habits as soon as we find ourselves tired or stressed, and before we know it, what little progress we made in our initial burst of enthusiasm is lost. This applies to changes in business as well as personal changes like diets or fixing relationship issues.
That’s why at Aspyrre we work with you on two levels. On the surface we give you practical tools that are easy to use, and will give you immediate results in the short term. But we know that the tools alone won’t change your life or up-level your work effectiveness long term. So for those of you who are willing and interested we work with you on a deeper level: identifying the beliefs, unmet needs, and thinking patterns that drive your automatic behavior and then working through the process of changing those things.
In this 5 minute video, Nahid explains how using an observation log can accelerate your coaching progress by helping you identify these patterns fairly quickly. Then, once you’ve seen them, you can work on changing them by changing the things you notice and pay attention to in the world. It’s an amazing process that takes a little bit of extra patience and awareness – but it works – and works permanently.
Enjoy – and I’d love to read your comments or answer any questions you have!
